I had my final wisdom tooth extracted on Wednesday. It was a stubborn extraction and took a lot of prying, pulling and digging to remove, but the dentist finally got it out. The extraction site received 2 stitches and they perscribed T3 for any pain that might occur and suggested taking advil as well. My face puffed up quite a bit over the first couple days and I had a lovely goose egg along the jaw line, but the ache and pain was minimal because of the pain medicines. Yesterday (day 4) I attempted to stop taking T3, and only use advil for the pain/inflammation.. It fixed the constipation problem, but over night the pain/ache seemed to go deep into the jaw and I woke up very sore.
I’m on day five and the puffiness has subsided, but it is looking like I may have the beginnings of an infection starting up. The ache is there, as well as a gross smell/taste. *ugh* I’m upping the salt water rinses and back to taking the combination of T3 and advil so that I don’t burst into tears from the ache and sick stomach. *yuck!* Here’s hoping that things ease off before tomorrow. I’ll be calling/going into the dentists if I’m still this way tomorrow.
I am so glad that this is the last extraction I’ll need.
