The extraction site is sore still, but the swelling has gone down considerably. I didn’t bruise as much as expected, but I’m not complaining. I rinse with salt water a lot right now to draw out any possible infection going on. I plan on keeping that up until I have zero pain.
On a positive note, by Monday was able to knock off the use of the T3 all together ((finally)). It was a slow process, but I really didn’t want to be on them as long as I had already been. I was prescribed 36 with no refills, and I only have 3 left, that’s just sad. I ‘wanted’ to be off them by Friday, but the extraction site had other plans apparently.
Initially, when I moved away from using T3′s, I tried just using straight Advil. But I found that four extra strength Advil didn’t touch the ache at all. So I experimented a little. I tried using 1 Robaxacet and 3 Advil, and that combination seemed to be effective. I did that for all of Monday with success. Three doses all together. Morning, afternoon, and evening.
The bonus was that it helped me sleep, which helps in the healing process too. Rest is good. I even found myself falling asleep at my computer several times yesterday. *haha*
Today I attempted to just use the Advil to control the ache. It was a good plan.. in theory. But after about an hour passed I could ‘feel’ the extraction area like some one was poking at it. And the teeth next to the extraction area feel achy and tender. Currently the ache is reverberating in my jaw line, ear and cheek area, so back to the combo treatment I go.
One bonus, Night time Advil does at least work alone fine at bed time, so that’s a silver lining I suppose. The only downfall is that I am Very aware when the Advil wears off in the morning. It’s like an achey, painful alarm clock at 7am. Letting me know that the jaw is not at 100% yet. *ugh*
Don’t get me wrong, I am getting better, but it seems to be taking it’s sweet time at it. I should be all better before Aaron’s next business trip. =)

Ok, so it seems to have taken a step backwards. I’ll be contacting my dentist first thing in the morning when they open at 8am to have things checked out. Frack.

Went to see the dentist this morning. No infection, but I do have dry socket. *joy* He irrigated and packed it with clove oil and gauze and refreshed the T3 prescription. Now to heal.
